(MENAFN- UkrinForm) U.S. President Joe Biden has said that dictators like Putin must be stopped and their aggression must be resisted, no matter how high the price.
He said this on Tuesday at the Lockheed Martin plant in Alabama, where Javelin systems are manufactured, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
'If you don't stand up to dictators, history has shown us, they keep coming, they keep coming' Biden said.
He noted that since Russia invaded Ukraine over two months ago, the United States has sent more than $3 billion in security assistance to Ukraine. 'This money is a direct investment in defending freedom and democracy itself,' he said.
Biden stressed that the cost of the fight against the Kremlin dictator 'is not going be cheap, but caving in to aggression would be even more costly.'
Biden traveled to Alabama on Tuesday to visit Lockheed Martin, a company that makes Javelin anti-tank missile systems. More than 5,000 of these systems have already been delivered to Ukraine to repel Russian aggression. The Pentagon acknowledged that the Armed Forces of Ukraine use these weapons very effectively. It is expected that future security assistance packages will also include these anti-tank systems.
