Dow Jones recovers from big losses to end Monday with increases


(MENAFN) The Dow Jones industrial average recovered from huge losses to end Monday’s trading session with increases.

The blue-chip index dropped 488 points at one point, but it succeeded to rebound into a high note to close the day with an increase of 238 points, or 0.7 percent, at 34,049.

The Dow tanked on Friday’s session to over 900 points to register its worst daily loss since October of two years ago.

The S&P 500 jumped 24 points, or 0.57 percent, to end Monday at 4,296. Moreover, the tech-heavy Nasdaq surged 165 points, or 1.29 percent, to close the day at 13,004.
