King of Jordan underwent satisfactory back operation in Germany


(MENAFN) According to the Royal Court, Jordan's King Abdullah II underwent back operation in Germany on Tuesday as well as Crown Prince Hussein, 27, took up his father's responsibilities while he was away.

It noted, “the Royal Hashemite Court announces that His Majesty King Abdullah II had successful surgery to treat a herniated disc in the thoracic spine area.”

Based on the palace, the monarch, who is 60 years old, required immediate operation to remove discomfort caused by a slipped disc.

His surgeons recommended that he get the surgery in Frankfurt. He is slated to spend a week in Germany.

Before replacing his father, the late King Hussein, in 1999, King Abdullah had back difficulties dating back to his army duty.
