Cooperation on personal data protection aimed at expanding Azerbaijan-Turkey relations - ESS

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Cooperation to
protect personal data between Azerbaijan and Turkey will promote
the development of bilateral relations, Head of Azerbaijan's
Electronic Security Service (ESS) Shahin Aliyev said at the
sub-working group meeting on cooperation in the field of personal
data protection of the Azerbaijani-Turkish working group on digital
transformation, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Digital Development and
Transport told Trend .
Aliyev informed the meeting participants about the main
principles of Azerbaijan's Law on personal data, legal reforms in
this area, as well as about the ESS plans in this regard.
Moreover, the organizers of the meeting showed presentations on
protecting personal data and harmonizing the national legislation
of the two countries in this area.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Personal Data
Protection Authority Faruk Bilir, and representatives of the
Digital Transformation Office of the Presidency of Turkey.
The Azerbaijani-Turkish working group on digital transformation
was established on February 18, 2021.
