(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The ambassadors of the Group of Seven will assist Ukraine in receiving emergency and long-term humanitarian and economic support, as well as monitor reports of potential war crimes and other violations of humanitarian law.
That's according to a thread of tweets the G7 ambassadors posted on Saturday, April 2, Ukrinform reports.
The G7 ambassadors stressed that they remain committed to Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
“While Ukraine is fighting against the Russian aggression and serving the basic & urgent needs of Ukrainians, G7 Ambassadors will seek to support these immediate efforts beyond the domestic reform process. The group will use its network and resources to help Ukraine access humanitarian and economic support, for both short-term needs and longer-term development,” the diplomats said.

Ambassadors said they would closely monitor reports of potential war crimes and other violations of humanitarian law and help Ukraine“defend our shared understanding of freedom, democracy, the rule of law and human rights.”
The group will coordinate its efforts with other international partners of Ukraine“in order to support economic reconstruction and facilitate Ukraine's return to its ambitious economic and judicial reform trajectory after the war.”
On February 24, Russian President Putin launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure and households across the country.
Martial law was imposed and general mobilization was announced in Ukraine.
