Azerbaijani Parliament speaker responds to allegations of Armenia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Speaker of the
Azerbaijan's Parliament Sahiba Gafarova responded to the statements
of her Armenian counterpart Alen Simonyan at a meeting of the CIS
Parliamentary Assembly Council in Kazakhstan's Almaty, Trend reports.
Commenting on Simonyan's allegations about the ceasefire
violation by Azerbaijan, Gafarova, said that the statements aren't
true.
She stressed that earlier Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has
already stated that in Karabakh, being the sovereign territory of
Azerbaijan, positions and locations of Azerbaijani army are being
clarified. At the same time, on the morning of March 26, members of
illegal Armenian armed groups attempted to commit sabotage against
the units of the Azerbaijani army, and this attempt was immediately
suppressed.
The speaker noted that the Azerbaijani side is committed to
fulfilling the provisions of the trilateral statement of November
10, 2020 [signed between Russian, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders
following the second Karabakh war].
“At the same time, the complete withdrawal of the Armenian armed
forces and illegal Armenian armed formations from the territory of
Azerbaijan, envisioned by the 4th paragraph of the
trilateral statement, hasn't yet been carried out, and not
Azerbaijan, but Armenia violates the provisions of the statement,”
Gafarova further said.
Besides, Gafarova once again noted that the
administrative-territorial unit called 'Nagorno-Karabakh' does not
exist.
The speaker also emphasized that, within the trilateral
statement, Azerbaijan handed over all the prisoners of war to
Armenia. Armenian servicemen detained on the territory of
Azerbaijan after the signing of the statement of November 10 aren't
considered prisoners of war in accordance with the Geneva
Convention.
She once again reminded that Azerbaijan sent a document
consisting of five clauses to Armenia on the normalization of
relations and is waiting for the response.
