Lebanon intends to get USD4B loan from IMF


(MENAFN) Based on the Lebanese economy minister, the country is predicted to continue its discussions with the International Monetary Fund the upcoming week on an economic improvement scheme together with a USD4 billion loan.

Amin Salam stated during an interview with Anadolu Agency, that formal discussions with the IMF are going to begin on Monday.

The Arab country is looking to agree on an aid scheme with the international financial organization in an attempt to pull itself out of the harsh economic and financial catastrophe that has been fighting it since late 2019.

Salam stated, "the negotiations will start upon the completion of preparatory discussions on the figures requested by the IMF regarding the extent of losses in the financial and banking sectors.”
