Qatar - Health official advises against using Brufen to treat Covid symptoms in certain group of people

Doha: Medical Director of Communicable disease Center (CDC) at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Dr Muna Al Maslamani said that is not preferable to give Brufen to the elderly, people with chronic diseases and those with kidney disease while treating symptoms caused by Covid-19.
Brufen is used to relieve pain from various conditions such as headache, dental pain and muscle aches.
She explained while speaking to Qatar TV that this comes out of fear for kidneys.
About people who should quarantine themselves, she said those who are infected and not show symptoms or show mild to moderate symptoms, as well as people who are treated in the hospital and have completed their treatment at home. Also, those who contacted infected people, even if they do not show symptoms until they do tests.
And about similarities and differences between symptoms of omicron variant and rest of the variants of coronavirus, Al Maslamani explained that the similarities are having a fever, headache, cough, fatigue and muscle aches. The difference is that Omicron leads to congestion in the pharynx and a dry and strong cough.
As for the original strain of covid and delta, it affects the lower part of the respiratory system.
