Experts: +150,000 kids live with HIV/ AIDS in Nigeria


(MENAFN) In accordance to experts, more than 150,000 kids in the West African nation of Nigeria carry Human Immunodeficiency Virus, which is recognized as HIV.

Nigeria made major development in the last few years for fighting against HIV/AIDS, Gambo Aliyu, the ruler of the Nigerian National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) said.

Yet, Aliyu added that out of 150,000, just 80,000 kids were having steady cure, declaring that almost 1.8 million people carry HIV, with 90 percent of them conscious of their HIV status and 96 percent are under cure.

He as well urged the world to test against HIV/AIDS, while stressing that the NACA is going to carry on organizing drives against the virus.
