Nord Stream 2 gets unapproved by Germany

The German Federal Network Agency has put the process of certifying Nord Stream 2 AG for a standalone distribution provider onto hold. According to Ukrinform, the ministry stated this in a statement released on its site.

The statement reported, based on a comprehensive assessment of paperwork, the Bundesnetzagentur decided only an owner of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline could get certified if s/he is prepared as in a formal documentation within the German regulation.

It should be highlighted that Nord Stream 2 AG, headquartered in Switzerland, has chosen to establish a branch within German law exclusively to control the German portion of the pipeline, rather than changing its current legislative framework.

This business might be the founder and president of the German portion of the pipeline, according to the report. The branch should therefore meet all the relevant laws for a standalone distribution provider.
