Qatar’s to alter attention from infrastructure to tourism after 2022 World Cup


(MENAFN) Nasser Al Khater, CEO of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stated while explaining Qatar’s economy after World Cup 2022, the nation’s emphasis is going to change from infrastructure expansion to tourism, and will probably head in the same path as Russia post-World Cup 2018.

Al Khater was talking at a panel discussion in Qatar Trade Summit that opened on 9th of November. During the summit, he also repeated the World Cup’s continuing economic recovery for the nation, and how it will be exceptional regarding innovation as well as sustainability.

Questioned on the nation’s economic development predictions after the World Cup in 2022, Al Khater stated that Qatar's growth of its LNG manufacture is going to create a new development surge in the economy.

Al Khater also added, “and I think the focus is going to shift from infrastructure development, and will move more to tourism. Entertainment and hospitality offerings are growing in the country. Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways are doing a good job. And I believe after the World Cup, Qatar will go in the same direction like what we’ve seen with Russia post-2018 World Cup.”
