Nitrogen gas leak in Salt Hospital brought under control, says official

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Salt, Oct. 24 (Petra) -- A nitrogen gas leak from one of the reserve cylinders at al-Hussein Hospital in Salt was brought under control, the hospital's director Dr. Rami Abu Rumman said on Sunday.
Abu Rumman told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that nitrogen gas is used in long-term anesthesia operations, and that the leakage occurred in one of the 9 reserve cylinders at the hospital's medical gas storage, not at the hospital's gas network.
"A maintenance worker suffered minor burns on his hand when dealing with the cylinder," he indicated.
The director also confirmed that the oxygen supplies are working perfectly and have not been affected, adding that an investigation is underway on the incident.
