ACCA expands its remit with SOCPA (The Saudi Organization for Charted and Professional Accountants) by accrediting the SOCPA exam papers


(MENAFN- Tishtash) By expanding their partnership, ACCA now offers all SOCPA members, 7 exam paper exemptions in to the ACCA qualification. This collaboration is designed to further develop and support the accountancy profession in the Kingdom. between Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and The Saudi Organization for Charted and Professional Accountants (SOCPA)

ACCA has expanded its collaboration with SOCPA (The Saudi Organization for Charted and Professional Accountants) and accredited SOCPA exam papers, awarding SOCPA members exemptions from 7 of the 13 exam papers need to obtain the ACCA qualification.

ACCA has completed the accreditation for SOCPA exam papers during recent visit to SOCPA offices in Riyadh, following a rigorous and thorough syllabus review, which assessed the SOCPA exam papers and aligned these papers to the ACCA exam papers. Following this process, ACCA awarded exemptions on 7 exam papers; Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Corporate and Business Law, Performance Management, Financial Reporting and Audit and Assurance.

SOCPA Members are now able to benefit from these exemptions and become ACCA Members and UK Chartered Accountants by completing the remaining 6 ACCA Exam papers.

Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Meghames, Secretary General of SOCPA said: "ACCA accreditation and exemptions extended are the result of the success achieved by the fellowship of SOCPA, and it reflect the progress that the accounting and auditing profession has reached in the Kingdom." Dr. Meghames expressed his happiness with the appreciation SOCPA membership/fellowship has within international community.

SOCPA stated that these developments are the result of the directives they had set towards building bridges of cooperation and partnership with international professional bodies, which leads to strengthening partnerships aimed at serving the accounting and auditing profession in the Kingdom and enhancing the confidence SOCPA qualification and membership gained locally and internationally.
