Russia's FM says International recognition of Taliban at present juncture not on table


(MENAFN) The recognition of Taliban in Afghanistan was not currently "on the table," according to Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"The question of international recognition of the Taliban at the present juncture is not on the table," Lavrov further declared at a news conference on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

In addition; they are connected with the Taliban and that it is extremely important that the Taliban accomplish their promises, the official added.

Lavrov also said that the issue is going to be tackled in an assembly amid Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russia's Vladimir Putin on Sept. 29, saying that they had previously came on at an agreement over Idlib.
