Bangladesh elected vice-chair of UNWTO


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Bangladesh has been unanimously elected the Vice-Chair of the commission for South Asia of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)for a two-year term (2021-2023).

According to a press release, Bangladesh became the Vice-Chair at a virtual conference jointly organized by the Commission for Asia Pacific and the Commission for South Asia with the participation of its member countries on Tuesday.

Secretary-General of the UNWTO Zurab Pololikashvili presided over the conference.

Besides Bangladesh, Iran has been elected Vice-Chair of the Commission for South Asia (CSA).

Expressing satisfaction over Bangladesh's such achievement, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali said Bangladesh has become a leader in tourism management in the region as it has been elected as the Vice-Chair of the commission for South Asia of UNWTO.
