Dr. Julia Kam is a cognitive neuroscientist. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology and a full member of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. Her research aims to understand what happens in the brain when the mind wanders, whether the frequency and content of mind wandering differs across various populations, and how mind wandering impacts our daily life. A long term goal of this research is to develop ways to detect the occurrence of mind wandering and optimize the experience when it happens. Her research is supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and Brain Canada.
