Turkish drones aim in battling forest blazes


(MENAFN) According to the head of Turkey's Defense Industries Presidency, the country’s locally produced drones, Bayraktar TB2 and Aksungur, which are actively participating in efforts to provoke forest flames.

Ismail Demir said on twitter “Aksungur UAV detected three tower workers during its mission flight yesterday, and thankfully, it helped them escape the flames.”

Unmanned aerial vehicles, named as Drones, are often used in wildfire investigation, conquest, discovery, control, and extinguishing blazes.

Over eight people have died in the wildfires since Wednesday, in addition to material injury.

Moreover, 119 blazes out of 126 across 32 cities are controlled, along with Turkish Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli.
