Oil prices settle mixed before OPEC+ assembly


(MENAFN) On Friday, May. 28 oil prices closed mixed as shareholders waited for a major assembly from key producers.

Brent crude for delivery of July soared 17 cents to settle at USD69.63 per barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange. The West Texas Intermediate for delivery of July decreased 53 cents to close at USD66.32 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

On Tuesday, the Organization of the petroleum Exporting Countries and their associates, commonly acknowledged as OPEC+, will convene. The group is projected to evaluate the oil-market state and talk about production quotas.

For the week, the U.S. crude benchmark soared 4.3 percent, whereas Brent increased 4.8 percent, anchored in the front-month contracts.
