Zelensky welcomes signing of Ukraine-France framework agreements for EUR 1.3B


(MENAFN- UkrinForm)President Volodymyr Zelensky has welcomed the conclusion by the governments of Ukraine and the French Republic of four framework agreements totaling more than EUR 1.3 billion.

These documents were signed during the visit of Minister of Economy, Finance, and Reconstruction of France Bruno Le Maire to Ukraine on May 13, Ukrinform reports with reference to the of the head of state.

"I am glad that everything we agreed with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron is not just words. Professional people managed to bring it all from words to serious deals. All four of these agreements are very relevant," Zelensky said in a video call after the signing of the documents.

The president noted the importance of concluding agreements to improve the quality of water supply in Ukraine. "I am very glad that we are solving this issue not only at the local level, but also at the state level. Big money will be invested. This is important both for Luhansk region and the capital of Ukraine," he said.

Zelensky also stressed the significance of concluding an agreement on renewing the fleet of railway locomotives. "It is very important for Ukraine that the level of localization of production will be 35%. That is, there will be both equipment upgrade and increase in the number of jobs," he stated.

Zelensky reiterated the invitation to President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence in Kyiv this August.

As reported, Ukraine and France signed agreements worth more than EUR 1.3 billion, including on the supply of electric locomotives, the improvement of water supply in Luhansk region, and the quality of drinking water in Kyiv.
