World manufacturing grows in April at more sluggish rate

(MENAFN) An index released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) showed that world industrial activity rose in April for a 10th straight month, although at a little more sluggish rate than in March.

The CFLP said that the global manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) came in at 57.1 percent last month, a decrease from 57.8 percent the prior month.

A figure over 50 shows growth, whereas a figure under 50 indicates narrowing.

The CFLP noted that in spite of the slight rollback, figures for March and April were both over 57, showing firm global revival.
