Chinese home prices marginally rise in March


(MENAFN) On Friday, Apr. 16 official figures demonstrated that China kept witnessing a mainly steady housing market last month, with home prices in 70 key cities demonstrating slight monthly rises.

Figures from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that new home prices within four first-tier cities -- Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou -- jumped 0.4 percent monthly last month, in comparison with a 0.5-percent rise recorded during February.

An overall of 31 second-tier cities witnessed a monthly rise of 0.5 percent in new home prices, whereas 35 third-tier cities saw a monthly climb of 0.3 percent in new home prices in March.

The resale home market within first-tier cities witnessed prices rise 1 percent monthly during March, dropping 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.
