(MENAFN)According to the country's airport authority, the amount of air passengers in Turkey -- including transit passengers stood at 17.68 million in the first three months of the current year.
The number came on at 33.6 million in the same period previous year.
The General Directorate of the State Airports Authority (DHMI) stated that the decline largely stalked from the pandemic measures, and restrictions.
The number of international passengers stood at 6 million in the first quarter of the current year, as around 11.65 million domestic passengers traveled via Turkish airports in the stated period.
DHMI figures declared that airports in the country served 238,448 planes – including over flights. Air cargo traffic recorded at around 600,433 tons.
