Libyan PM pays official visit to Gulf states


(MENAFN) Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, who arrived in Kuwait on Tuesday as part of a Gulf tour, met the country’s Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The official KUNA news agency which reported the visit, revealed no details about the content of the gathering.

The duration of Dbeibeh and his delegation’s stay in Kuwait is still unknown.

Dbeibeh’s visit to Kuwait "comes within as part of the prime minister's efforts to unify the Gulf position regarding the Libyan file, and to strengthen the relationship with all Gulf states on the basis of mutual respect”, Mohamed Hammouda, a spokesman for the Libyan National Unity Government, said in a Facebook statement.

Dbeibeh is also likely to pay an official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia as part of his tour, Saudi-funded Al Arabiya TV channel reported.
