Lao gov’t monitor entering of 3,418 people amid pandemic fears

A total of 3,418 people have been screened for the COVID-19 across Laos over COVID-19-related fears, Laos' National Taskforce Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said Tuesday in a statement.

On Monday, a number of 2,022 people entered Laos through international border checkpoints, reporters quoted Deputy Director General of the Department of Communicable disease Control under the Lao Ministry of health Latsamy Vongkhamsao, as saying at a press conference in Lao capital Vientiane on Tuesday.

Before sending to quarantine centers for two weeks, the temperature of each person was checked.

Latsamy added that some 3,418 people had been isolated at 34 accommodation centers across the state.

The Lao authorities continue to firmly monitor people entering Laos to avoid awave of COVID-19.
