Russian investments in Iraqi energy schemes surpass USD10b


(MENAFN)According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, Collaboration between Russia and Iraq in the oil segment is “very active” despite all the constraints and the effect of the coronavirus pandemic.
Novak, who formerly served as Russia’s energy minister, met on Wednesday, March 4, with Iraqi Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar to talk about the views of the two countries’ oil and gas schemes, in addition to the situation on the international oil marketplace.
He stated that the productive collaboration between Russia and Iraq in the oil sector, stating: “Our interaction is very active, despite the current restrictions and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.”
While discussing the existing schemes by Russian oil companies in Iraq, Novak said: “Our companies are actively implementing a number of successful projects on the territory of the republic. To date, the accumulated investments of Russian oil and gas companies in Iraqi projects have exceeded $10 billion.”
