Stepanov: Ukraine will receive additional 5M doses of NovaVax vaccine


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov has agreed with the Serum Institute of India on the supply of additional 5 million doses of the NovaVax coronavirus vaccine to Ukraine.

In a post on his Facebook page, Stepanov wrote: 'More positive news from Pune, India, and the world's largest vaccine manufacturer, Serum Institute. Negotiations on increasing the supply of the American vaccine NovaVax to Ukraine have been successfully completed. The possible supply of additional 5 million doses of the vaccine from this manufacturer have been confirmed to us. We will approve the agreement by signing the contract.

According to the minister, the total number of the NovaVax vaccine expected in Ukraine amounts to 15 million. As expected, the deliveries of the NovaVax vaccine will begin in July 2021.

As Ukrinform reported, 500,000 doses of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine (CoviShield) are expected to arrive in Ukraine in the coming days.
