Laos: Dengue infections increase


(MENAFN)The Lao Ministry of health recorded two new confirmed cases of dengue fever in Laos on Thursday, January 14th taking the total number of infections to 45 since the beginning of 2021.

The highest number of dengue patients was recorded in Lao capital Vientiane at 19, while six cases were reported in Attapeu and Sekong, and five cases were recorded in Luang Prabang province, Sisavath Soutthaniraxay, deputy director general of the Department of Communicable Diseases Control under the Lao Ministry of Health, told a press meeting on Thursday, January 14th.

Lao health authorities advised people to clear potential mosquito breeding locations around their homes and workplaces to assist control the spread of dengue fever.
