ADEN, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- Yemeni President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi said on Saturday that the new government would practice its duties from the "temporary capital" of Aden that will be a capital of all Yemenis.
Following taking the oath by the new government's members before him in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, Hadi said addressing economic challenges tops the government's priorities.
He called for holding urgently a first official meeting of the new government in Aden to deliver the first messages to the Yemenis and the world that the cabinet will work on enhancing all sustainable peace chances and confronting what the war left behind.
"We want Aden to be the capital of all ... We want institutions to be built, an economy to be recovered, stabilized security and confrontation of the coup," he said.
All ministers will work from Aden and do their best to build state's institutions with the current available potentials, he added, vowing to provide all support and care to the government, and hold accountable those who have deficiency in their duties.
The top priorities of the new government are to address economic challenges, stop the deterioration, back the national currency, build and strengthen state revenues and its various institutions, improve services, achieve security and mitigate the sufferings of the citizens whether resulting from the deteriorating economy or the confrontation with the Houthi coup, he stressed.
He affirmed continuing to support the national army, and confront the Houthi coup project, and force Houthis to peace and return to the state and its institutions.
The government is concerned with following up the implementation of the remaining gains of the Riyadh agreement, including the military and security sides, the withdrawal, handover weapons and the unification of all military and security ranks, he made clear. (end)
