Qatar- British Council welcomes applications for Study UK Alumni Awards

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The British Council has once again launched the prestigious Study UK Alumni Awards celebrating the outstanding achievements of the UK's international alumni in Qatar and around the world.

To mark the occasion, British Ambassador to Qatar, H E Jonathan Wilks, said, 'I'm delighted to announce the third cycle of the British Council's Study UK Alumni Awards in Qatar.

"Through this scheme we celebrate the achievements of the many Qataris who succeed in their studies in UK and return home to play an important part in the development of their own land.

"They represent an outstanding part of the human bridge between our two countries, which the UK values greatly, and an inspiration and example to others to follow in their footsteps. I encourage everybody qualified to apply.

The Study UK Alumni Awards celebrate and showcase the impact and value of UK higher education and raise the international profile of alumni who studied in the UK. Award winners and finalists are leaders in their fields who have used their experience of studying at a UK university to make a positive contribution to their communities, industries and countries.

This will be the third cycle of the awards, which are first celebrated at a national level in Qatar. All applicants including national awards winners will then be put forward for the global awards set to begin from March 2021 till the winner's announcement in September 2021.

Call for applications close on October 30. Finalists and winners of the awards will be announced early next year during the annual Qatar-UK Alumni Networking ceremony. Award winners have the opportunity to raise their international profile, expand their professional networks, and enhance their careers.
