(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim announced, Tuesday, that 10 MPs submitted a "non-cooperation" request with His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
This came after the two grilling motions against the Premier, by MPs Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Kandari and Al-Humaidi Al-Subaie earlier today.
"According to Articles (101) and (102) of the Constitution and Article (144) of the National Assembly bylaws, the parliament may not issue its decision on this request seven days before its submission," said Al-Ghanim.
The MPs who signed the request are Mohammad Hayef, Thamer Al-Suweit, Mohammad Al-Mutair, Abdullah Fahad, Hamdan Al-Azmi, Nayef Al-Merdas, Al-Humaidi Al-Subaie, Riyadh Al-Adasani and Bader Al-Mulla.
The two lawmakers (Al-Kandari and Al-Subaie) submitted separate grilling motions, yet His Highness the Prime Minister agreed to discuss them together in accordance with Constitution and Article 137 of the National Assembly's bylaw.
Al-Kandari is accusing His Highness the Prime Minister of mismanagement during the coronavirus pandemic, budget deficit and violating Article 39 of the Constitution.
Al-Subaie said in his motion that His Highness the Prime Minister failed to protect oil wealth, failed to hold those who violated public funds accountable and ignored reports of the National Assembly and State Audit Bureau, in addition to failure to address shortcomings committed by the previous government.
