Local Dallas-Based Female Football Agent is Shaking Up the GridIron

(MENAFN- Online PR News) Women in Sports are Changing the Landscape of Professional Football by Becoming Agents

Online PR News 21-May-2020 Dallas, Texas The CEO of Black Diamond PR & Sport Management Firm has more to tout than being at the helm of her female and veteran-owned Dallas-based company. As of last week, Brandy Runyan proudly added Canadian Football League Agent to her growing list of titles and accolades.

Runyan, a 20-year PR & Marketing guru made monumental shifts when she scaled her Firm into the Sports Industry at the end of 2017. The company, which now primarily manages professional athletes, has become the new home to NFL & CFL players, Olympians, Hall of Famers, and World Champions. Though they have serviced huge names in sport such as Ryan Broyles, formerly of the Detroit Lions, and Cyril Grayson, of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Runyan felt that something was still missing.

'I felt that so many of our football clients have been historically underserved in the area of agent representation,' said Runyan. 'The only way I could see fixing some of the issues I was seeing, was to get certified myself, as an agent, so that I could provide the kind of representation I felt they truly deserved.'

This dedicated single mother of five works 40-50 hours per week, alongside a loyal staff, to make sure that athletes are getting the best opportunities the sport has to offer.

'We were already putting in so much time and effort on every single athlete, it just made sense to take it to the next level so that we could make sure that they are taken care of.' Runyan said.

In addition to full-scale public relations and athlete management services, which includes making sure athlete's branding is on-point, procuring sponsorship & endorsement deals, as well as full media prep, career coaching, and reputation management, Runyan will now be able to handle contract negotiations for players interested in playing in the Canadian Football League.

'The Canadian Football League is an exceptional place for players to compete at the professional level, especially if they're coming from the NFL or wanting to work their way to the NFL in the future, ' she says. 'Their game is a little bit different from the NFL, but it's incredibly exciting to watch and an extraordinary opportunity for players. We've seen great players like Justin Renfrow, formerly of the 49-ers, make a great career in Canada. I want that for our guys.'

Players like Basil Jackson, one of Runyan's clients, are the ones who stand to benefit. Jackson, a Tarleton graduate, had a solid look with the Dallas Cowboys before going overseas to play in the GFL. The linebacker won a German Bowl before returning home to Texas, where Runyan assisted in facilitating a workout with the CFL that concluded with him being signed with the Calgary Stampeders. Runyan hopes to create more success stories in the upcoming year. She says she feels that women are making huge strides in sports and hopes to see more females get involved with football. She is currently working on her upcoming book, which details her approach to athlete management, and frequently speaks on Ethics in Sports and panels for Women in Sports. Runyan currently sits on the Academic Advisory Board for Texas A&M University-Commerce, where she works with other experts in the sport industry to contribute to the Sport Management Programs.

Black Diamond PR firm is a full-scale Sport Public Relations and Athlete Management Firm based out of Dallas, Texas.
