Total coronavirus cases in Iraq to 1,031


(MENAFN) The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Iraq has increased to 1,031, and the number of fatalities stood at 64, according to Iraqi Health Ministry on Monday.


As said in a statement by the ministry, among the 70 cases registered in the past day, 4 are in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, 41 in Erbil, 9 in Basra, 7 in Dhi Qar, 4 in Najaf, 3 in Sulaimaniyah, 2 in Karbala.


The statement added that, until now, 1,031 cases have been recorded in Iraq, of whom up to 64 have died and 344 others were cured.


The Iraqi authorities have taken many measures to contain the outbreak of coronavirus, including extending a nationwide curfew until April 19.
