Index of export container transport in China posts rises

The Shanghai Shipping Exchange in China said that the weekly export container shipping index in China has posted a rise in the earlier week.

The exchange said that the average CCFI, called the China Containerized Freight Index, increased 0.4 percent compared to a week ago to reach a total of 897.69.

The rise has resulted from the sub-reading for the Republic of Korea service with a weekly expansion of 5 percent, the west coast America and east coast America routes both expanded 2.7 percent and 1.7 percent respectively.

The South Africa service sub-index saw a loss of 6.9 percent compared to the earlier week as a decline of 3.8 percent was seen for the South America service.
