Crude steel production in Turkey increases 17.3 percent


(MENAFN) As said on Monday by a trade association, Turkey's crude steel production increased 17.3 percent yearly to 3 million tons in January.


According to the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkey's steel products exports showed a fair increase of 0.6 percent to 1.9 million tons in January.


Turkey got USD1.3 billion income from steel exports, a drop of 5.5 percent on a yearly basis in January.


The volume of steel imports grew 48.6 percent to 1.4 million tons in January and in terms of value, crude steel imports climbed 17.7 percent yearly to USD950 million.
