US-Bangla inducts brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft to fleet


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Sylhet: The biggest private carrier of the country US-Bangla Airlines added a brand new ATR 72-600 to its fleet today. Capt Sikder Mezbahuddin Ahmed, Adviser of US-Bangla Airlines inducted the aircraft with the maiden flight to MAG Osmani International Airport in Sylhet from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
With the newly added aircraft, the airline plans to increase the number of flights and routes in the domestic sector. Furthermore, US-Bangla announced to add four more brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft to its fleet by October 2020.
Speaking on the occasion, Capt Sikder Mezbahuddin Ahmed, Adviser, US-Bangla Airlines, said, "We promise safe and comfortable journey to all our valued customers. We will continue to develop and continue our operations as the best airline of this country and the region.'
US-Bangla Airlines started its journey on July 17, 2014 with two 76-seater Dash8-Q400 aircraft and with the maiden flight to Jashore. Within less than two years it went international with the introduction of flight to Kathmandu. The airline's fleet today consists of thirteen aircraft: four Boeing 737-800, six brand new ATR 72-600 and three Dash8-Q400 which is highest for a private airline in the country.
Currently, in the domestic sector, the airline operates daily flights to Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Jashore, Saidpur, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Barishal from Dhaka. In its international network, the airline operates flights to Kolkata, Chennai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Guangzhou, Muscat and Doha.
Recently, US-Bangla Airlines won the gold trophy in 'Best On-time Performance' for continuous on-time flight operation in 2019 at the gala award ceremony of Monitor Airline of the Year 2019. The carrier also received Silver trophies in 'Best Onboard Services', 'Best Customer Friendly Airline' and 'Best Domestic Airline' categories and Bronze in 'Best Improved Services' category.
Monirul Haque Joarder, Director, Flight Operations, Moshiul Azam, Head of Training, Musa Mollah, Director, Administration, Md Kamrul Islam, General Manager-Public Relations and many other senior officials of US-Bangla Airlines were also present at the induction ceremony today at Sylhet airport along with media representatives.
