(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan formally inaugurated e-registration of contractors and companies in the province under the Department of Communications and Construction.
The project will benefit about 7,000 contractors across the province, who will be facilitated 24 hours in online registration a week.
The Chief Minister termed the move as the first and unique development of its kind in Pakistan towards e-governance. He directed other provincial departments, especially Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Municipalities to adopt this approach.
Mehmood Khan also emphasized the need to ensure the issuance of the e-work order in the next phase. He said that the KP government had priority over other provinces in terms of e-governance.
Speaking on the occasion of the formal opening of the e-registration of contractors and companies in the Secretariat of Peshawar, the Chief Minister termed the e-registration initiative as a major step towards e-governance. He appreciated the system saying that now the contractors will not have visit government offices regularly.
Govt asked to exhibit KPs' products in Turkey
PESHAWAR Chairperson KP Chapter of Handicraft Association of Pakistan, Maryam Iqbal has said that Turkey and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should exchange handicraft products with each other to promote bilateral trade.
She expressed these words during a meeting with Pakistani Deputy Counselor General Saleem Ullah Khan Niazi in Istanbul (Turkey), says a press statement. She said KP has expertise in the handicraft products so there should be an exchange of products between the two countries.
She said that the women of KP are famous in the world in handmade products and if both countries take effective steps to showcase these products and ensure handicraft display in their embassies that would help for increasing business of handicraft.
The Deputy Counselor General, Saleem Ullah Khan assured Maryam Iqbal that he would cooperate in promoting handicraft products and will do everything possible to promote the handicraft industry of Pakistan. On this occasion, Maryam Iqbal presented a traditional handmade cap and a shawl of Peshawar to the Deputy Council General of Pakistan in Istanbul.
