Jordan- Senate president urges int

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept. 15 (Petra) -- Senate President Faisal al-Fayez on Sunday denounced the Israeli prime minister's declaration that he plans to impose Israeli sovereignty over the Palestinian territory of the Jordan Valley and the northern Dead Sea and annex illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
"Netanyahu's declaration is a blatant violation of the rights of the peoples of the region.......these statements are racist reflecting the reality of the extremist right-wing Israeli government, which would fuel the conflict in the region and undermine security and stability," Al-Fayez said during a meeting of the Senate's Palestine Committee.
Al-Fayez described the Israeli announcement a serious escalation in the region, calling on the Security Council, the United Nations and the international community to take the necessary political and legal measures to address this new aggressive position that will push the region towards more chaos and destruction.
He called on the Arab League, Arab and Muslim parliamentarians, the international community and its parliamentary institutions to do their part to expose Israel's extremist racist practices and to carry out their duty towards the Palestinian cause and protect the Palestinian people from the daily brutal practices.
