Toll of dead militants reaches 11 in Afghanistan


(MENAFN) Authorities declared that over 11 Taliban militants have died as three more were injured in two southern Afghan provinces.

Afghan army Corps 205 Attal based in the region confirmed that in one case, two militants have died as three more were injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) they were placing accidentally blasted in Mizan district of Zabul province.

Army Corps 215 Maywand based in Helmand added that up to six militants have died after NATO-led coalition forces carried out an air attack in Nikzai village, Nahri Sarraj district of Helmand province.

In neighboring Washer district, two militants have been killed after Afghan Air Force conducted a sortie following which Afghan army's ground forces recovered a gun and a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) from the spot.
