5 Police members arrested in Macedonia for bribery

The Interior Macedonian Ministry stated on Sunday that 5 police officers were taken into custody for accepting bribes in eastern north Macedonia.

The 5 officers were apprehended in Strumica, they are facing charges of accepting bribes amounting to USD913 and alcoholic beverages.

The department of internal control has arranged the operation with the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for organized crime and corruption prosecution acts along with the criminal investigations and professional standards of the Interior Ministry.

The ministry also added that the charged officers will be followed by the public prosecutor.
