Doha: Popular Indian musicians and top writers will be in Doha for the first edition of two-day Qatar Cultural and Literature Festival to be held in July.
Indian singer Mika Singh, author Chetan Bhagat, actor/poet Piyush Mishra, acid attack survivor and social activist Laxmi Agarwal will be in the country on July 11-12 for Qatar Cultural and Literature Festival (QCLF) that will take place at Katara.
Bollywood actor Vindu Dara Singh, news anchor Anurag Punetha, journalist Manjeet Negi, authors Anuj Tiwari, Aparna Sharma and Adite Banerjee, classical dancer Arupa Lahiry, poet Nitin Soni, social worker Anurag Chaugan; film writer Raaj Shaandilya; film actor Sushant Singh; ballroom dancer Sandeep Soparkar and creative writer Erika Ralaine will all be participating in the festival.
Mika Singh's concert will be on the first day of the event from 7:30pm onwards and organisers promise it to be a musical night to cherish and remember for the audience. Prior to the concert, the first day that will begin at 5:30pm will have book launches, giving a sneak peek into the literature and creative work by various authors.

The second day would include an opening session at 11:30am by Chetan Bhagat on ‘Making a nation read', followed by a panel discussion at 12pm on women empowerment titled as ‘Empower women, empower society'. There will be a poetry reading session by Piyush Mishra followed by panel discussions and musical theatre which will be from 5:30pm.
The other guests will include Indian Culture minister Prahlad Singh Patel, Indian Ambassador P Kumaran, Chairman of NHRC Dr Ali Bin Smaikh Al Marri, and Consultant of Fine Arts Ministry of Culture & Sports (Qatar) Amal Al Aathem.
Speakers from Qatar will include founder of Whats up Doha Zunira Malik, Qatari artist Amal Al Aathem and President of MAPS International Rashmi Agarwal to name a few.
Commenting on the occasion, Ruhi Ganguly, Festival Producer and CEO of Question Associates said, "I am very excited to see this combination of two such rich cultures on the same platform. We are not just having speakers from India but we also have speakers from Doha. Seeing them having a conversation on various important issues will be very interesting."
Festival Director and award-winning author Anamika Mishra also said, "This is my first time in Doha and I have already fallen for the city. I feel privileged to direct this festival as we will get to see an interesting amalgamation of two different cultures on our platform. It also feels great to see such a positive response from the people of Qatar for our show."
