(MENAFN) On Sunday, a blast was heard in the heavily fortified Green Zone in Iraq's Baghdad, while alerts could be heard after the explosion, a security source affirmed.
Yahya Rasoul, spokesman of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command, stated in a statement, "Katyusha rocket hits central Baghdad's Green Zone without causing any casualties".
Katyusha rocket hit an empty place close to the U.S. embassy in the Green Zone, without leaving any casualties, according to another source who informed Xinhua in condition of secrecy.
