Oman- Expatriates arrested for preparing food in unhygienic conditions


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR) announced that its inspection teams arrested a number of expatriates who were found making food in unhygienic conditions in several wilayats.

An official at MRMWR said, 'In the first case, our team raided a farm in Bidbid that was being used by expatriates to make and supply food to local restaurants and cafés.

'In the second case, the Khabourah Municipality in cooperation with the ROP and the Public Prosecution arrested expatriates who were engaged in selling mishkak meat. The accused were found preparing foodstuff and transporting it to another governorate in unhygienic conditions. The inspection team also seized 1,000 mishkak meat items.'

All the accused were transferred to the Public Prosecution for legal action.
