Qatar- 86 contestants participate in Sheikh Faleh Bin Nasser Al Thani Annual Quran Competition

Doha Academy held Sheikh Faleh Bin Nasser Al Thani 16th Annual Quran Competition as a part of its continued efforts to spread Islamic ethos and culture by encouraging its students and those of different schools of Qatar to preserve and memorise the Holy Quran.

This annual competition is held under the patronage of Dr. Sheikha Aisha Bint Faleh Al Thani, the owner and Chairperson of Doha Academy who supports Islamisation and customisation of foreign curricula delivered at international schools operating in Qatar.

This year's competition witnessed remarkable progress at all levels in terms of competition, participation which indicates that the competition is achieving its goal of spreading the words of Allah among school populations and communities.

The jury was lead by Sheikh Abdul Salam Hassan Qandil Imam from the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Yusri Al Saqqa and Maulana Kurch, Quran Reciter from Macedonia.

One hundred and thirty schools operating in Qatar including independent, community and international schools participated in the qualifying phase from which 86 contestants qualified for the final phase. The final phase witnessed great competition between contestants for seeds one to four, where all participants received honorary prizes and gifts.

As in previous years Shiekha Aisha attended the final ceremony and congratulated all contestants and winners as part of her commitment to spread Islamic values and culture.
