UK's May condemns bloody Sri Lanka bombings

(MENAFN) The UK extended its strong denouncement to deadly terrorist attacks which struck several churches and hotels in Sri Lanka.

"The acts of violence against churches and hotels in Sri Lanka are truly appalling, and my deepest sympathies go out to all of those affected at this tragic time," stressed British Prime Minister Theresa May on Sunday.

"We must stand together to make sure that no one should ever have to practice their faith in fear," the prime minister added.

Sri Lanka was struck on Sunday with a number of bombings, causing 138 people to lose their lives and inflicting almost 500 others with injuries.
