Amman, Apr. 15 (Petra) –– The 7th biannual Aqaba Conference (AqabaConf2019) on marine insurance and transportation began Monday morning with the participation of some 550 representatives from 25 countries.
The three-day conference, organized by Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF) and General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF), addresses topics related to various insurance issues, including digital integration, traditional insurance, takaful insurance, a co-operative system of reimbursement, natural catastrophic exposure, and the risk vs. capital debate.
The conference will be attended by major local, regional and international insurance and reinsurance companies, insurance brokers, agents, and loss adjusters, in addition to the participation of both lawyers and insurance experts.
In addition to Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia as well as a number of world countries are taking part in the meeting.
