Dubai is my favourite city: Shenaz Treasurywala

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Shenaz Treasurywala has come a long way since her modelling days and her Bollywood debut in Ishk Vishk. Her love for travel led her from writing articles for Cosmopolitan, Elle and Femina to hosting the Travel Channel's Culture Shock; now she's a popular vlogger who has her own YouTube channel, Travel with Shenaz, with over 94,000 subscribers. Her most recent assignment was playing host for the Colors CricQuiz 2019 which kicked off in Dubai on February 10. She says, "I have been extremely excited ever since Colors TV reached out to me for this season (my second in a row). I love how much enthusiasm the people of Dubai have shown for cricket and that has always kept my excitement at its peak with each passing episode." Here are some excerpts from a chat with the bubbly actress, TV host, writer and travel vlogger.

Did you enjoy your experience shooting Colors CricQuiz 2019 in Dubai? What do you like the most about this city?
This is the first quiz show I have hosted and it was an enthralling experience. It was overwhelming to see the energy levels soar as and when a task was given to the participating team. I was in Dubai for a week out of which I was busy shooting the show for three days and the rest I had kept aside to explore places in my favourite city. I love how culturally diverse this city is. People from different parts of the world live here and Dubai has always respected and welcomed each one of them. Also, being a foodie I love Dubai as it has great places to eat and amazing nightlife. This city has a beautiful skyline which is one of the best seen by me so far. The infrastructure feels so futuristic. I am looking forward to work more in this beautiful city.

What is the one thing you love about being a TV host?
Connecting with people! I like to listen and talk and the fact that hosting puts a voice to things that people may actually think or believe, is the best thing in the world.

Are you a cricket fan?
I really like cricket. My dad is a big fan and I end up watching the games with him.

Who is your favourite cricketer?
Virat Kohli.

Tell us one of your favourite cricket moments? Any match, tournament?
When Dhoni hit a six and won the World Cup for India in 2011.

What kind of preparation you have to do for a quiz show? Have you incorporated any of your ideas or style, to the show?
Being new to hosting quiz shows, it took me a little time to get well versed with the breaks that the host is required to take in between announcing the rules of each task to understand if the participants are following. When it comes to integrating your style into a show, every host brings his/her own flavour to the show. When you see me hosting a cricket quiz, it ought to be different from the professional cricket anchors. I think every host adds their own charm and creativity to everything that they do.

The last season of Colors CricQuiz enjoyed an amazing fan following. How do you think this season is different from the last?
Yes indeed! The last season was a big hit. This season, as compared to the previous has more interesting and fun tasks. It has a variety of rounds like Shout Out Loud wherein one person from the team says the given term out loud to the person wearing noise cancelling headphones. That person has to guess the word and the faster they guess more words they get! Similarly, we have also incorporated a game wherein one person from the team throws the ball at the other standing with hat acting like a fielder. More number of throws and catches will get them more chances to win. This one was extremely exciting. We had a great time shooting the show.

How do you think this cricket quiz is different from any other traditional quiz show?
This quiz show is just not about questions and answers but fun tasks that bring out all of your skills together, be it acting, drawing or playing cricket. It's actually like playing a game at a friend's house which is not only fun but also competitive.

How was your experience with the participants on the show?
All the participants were immensely enthusiastic which made the show's environment extremely competitive and fun. Their passion for winning the tasks was commendable and not a single moment passed without excitement.

Watch Colors CricQuiz 2019 tonight on Colors TV at 7:30pm.
