New Delhi, Apr 8 (KNN) The Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) has welcomed the announcements made for the MSME sector in the Bharatiya Janta Party's (BJP's) manifesto or the Sankalp Patra released today. FISME, the apex body for MSME associations in the country, said that it hopes that the party will fulfil the promises made by it in the near future.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the BJP President Amit Shah today released the "Sankalp Patra" of BJP which promises to establish 'National Traders Welfare Board' for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs).

The party promises to create a National Policy for Retail Trade for the growth of retail businesses and also promises pension for small traders.

Document of promises has been crafted on the theme of a "Sankalpit Bharat - Shashakt Bharat" or "determined India, empowered India".

Giving security to the small traders, BJP promised to provide an accident insurance of 10 lakh rupees to all the traders registered under GST.

On the lines of Kisan credit card, BJP will also create a scheme to give merchant credit card to registered merchants.

BJP also promised to set-up new 'Entrepreneurial Northeast' scheme to provide financial support to the MSME industry for employment generation in the North-eastern state.

Talking to KNN India, Animesh Saxena, President, FISME, said, 'More relief should have been given to the manufacturing sector especially the MSME industries and also to those MSMEs who are registered under Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Highlighting that manufacturing sector is second in terms of providing employment after agriculture, he said, 'Maximum Jobs are created in the manufacturing sector, so government should help and encourage this sector to grow which will in return generate more employment in the country.

Talking about the manifesto of Congress he said, 'Congress Party in his manifesto has focused on providing incentives and support to the poor section of the society. But they are silent on the issues of generating jobs in the country through promoting manufacturing sector.

Saxena said that giving money to poor section will only give them instant relief. So, both the parties should think about future and focus on increasing employment.

The party has promised to create a National Policy for Retail Trade for the growth of retail businesses and also promises pension for small traders.

The Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will be held in seven phases, from April 11 to May 19, 2019 across India's 543 constituencies in 29 states and 7 Union Territories. (KNN/JM)
