Hamas decries Omani comments on easing Israeli 'fears for future'

(MENAFN) Palestine's Hamas condemned a statement Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi made on the need of Arab countries to assure Israel that it has "no threats to their future."

Arab nations are responsible to relieve Israel "fears for its future as a non-Arab country surrounded by 400 million Arabs," the Omani foreign minister suggested.

Alawi's calls are "running counter to all facts and logic," the Palestinian resistance group emphasized in a statement it issued on Monday.

Hamas stressed "under which moral or political logic should we ask the victim to reassure the executioner and occupier about his future?"

It added "[Israel] is a usurper, which has the most powerful army in the region, practices a systematic killing and destruction against our people, Judaizes Jerusalem, desecrates holy sites, threatens the whole region and disregards international law."
