(MENAFN) A South African doctor offering at a refugee camp in Syria has been murdered in an air attack, his lawyer stated on Wednesday.
"I received the sad news that Dr. Feroz Ganchi was killed in an airstrike in Baghouz in Syria, days ago. I don't have much details," Yousha Tayob informed Anadolu Agency via phone.
He emphasized Ganchi was fervent about assisting people affected by war, and was now involved in medical and Islamic humanitarian work in Syria.
When phoned for a remark, South Africa's Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) affirmed it was still investigating the matter.
