Jordan- Canadian agency offers JD0.5 million to Deir Ala Municipality

Deir Ala, Feb. 17 (Petra) - New Deir Ala Municipality and the Energy and Sustainable Development Project, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), signed on Sunday a grant agreement worth JD0.5 million to build 950 (kv) solar cells.

On the occasion, Mayor Mustafa Shatti, said the agreement aims to establish a solar cell facility with a capacity of 950 (kv) to generate power for the street lighting units and reduce the electricity bill on the municipality.

Shatti expected to spare about JD200 thousand annually, which will be directed to enhance the municipality's services and development efforts.

He highlighted CIDA's support to carry out this ambitious project in the Deir Ala region.
